In addition to my other glowing reviews, I would just like to say that I recommend signing up for Fratelli's email club. You can do so inside the restaurant. Not only do they send you discounts for your birthday, they also send them periodically, including your half-birthday! I got mine today, which is what reminded me. :)
Also, to answer the question of "Hi. Would you ever cook a classic? Just the pasta amaticiana?"
I'll admit I had to look it up because I didn't know what that is. I'm not sure if this yelper was trying to be cute or not, but it just means spaghetti. Yes, Fratelli's serves spaghetti. It is on the menu as pasta with bolognese or as spaghetti with bolognese.
Although, I would recommend the ravioli with mama rosa sauce (alfredo and marinara). It's by far a family favorite! -

I have no idea why it took me years to check this place out. I see it all the time and figured it was just some decent little Italian place that was hanging in there. I checked out the Google and Yelp Reviews which were all amazing and decided to give it a try sometime.
On a Tuesday night wanted to get a bite to eat to celebrate my birthday, the big 40! I worked all day and was exhausted and wanted to go out but stay kinda close to home. Perfect time to give Fratelli's a try.
We walked in and were greeted immediately by a super friendly hostess. We were seated and then our server came by within a few minutes. We decided to share a bottle of Pinot Grigio to go with the bread that was delivered with a nice flavored dipping oil. We had the meatball appetizer dish which came with three good sized meatballs covered in mozzarella cheese. The meatballs were super tender and cooked well. We were off to a good start.
For some reason I always order raviolis at Italian restaurants. Of all the fancy things I can order I choose run of the mill raviolis. Well, these raviolis were anything but run of the mill. I had asked to have them in marinara sauce, but the waiter convinced me the "Mama Rosa" house sauce was they way to go. He was absolutely right! I'm so glad I went with it. It was a kind of rich creamy mixture of an Alfredo and Mariners sauce. It was really flavorful and made the dish. I added the sausage and bam, best raviolis I've had in quite some time.
Service and food were both excellent! Much more than just some decent little Italian Place. I won't wait too long to come back! -

Passable Italian. Please note I COOK italian so have a natural bias... but the food here isnt bad, and is probably the best in this foodie-desolate part of oceanside. If you are unable to eat at my house and want italian... eat here i guess.
A tad pricey is my main criticism. On the plus side their pizzas feel homemade, putting a notch above local pizzerias. -

Such a hidden gem. Just minutes off the freeway to San Diego, this was well worth the detour. It's quite pretty inside and has outdoor seating as well. They greet you at the table with warm bread, fresh from the oven and delectable pesto. This alone is reason to come back. My kids each ordered the spaghetti marinara. They are every last bite. I had the summer salad w chicken. The chicken was very well seasoned, cooked and moist. We will definitely be back!

Have eaten here quite a few times. Looking up reviews on the chicken Parmesan and decided to drop my review. The place isn't usually too busy. They give you bread with an herb oil that's pretty good. Have had various pastas here and I like the pesto with shrimp. Only gripe is that the shrimps are tail on which makes it hard to eat with pasta. The pepperoni pinwheel things are my favorite appetizer and so cravable. Have already decided on fratellis for our next dinner out to try the chicken Parm
